Purchased after my wife commandeered the Orange Cabriolet parked nearby. Found this first year 996 in California, seller had it listed with a "ticking" sound and was eager to sell. Had it shipped to Georgia, dropped the oil pan and found the guides for the timing chains had disintegrated, the tick was timing chains slapping against bare metal. Engine was out of time by 9 degrees and should not have been running - I thought it demonstrated "heart" so I had the engine rebuilt and have been enjoying this as my daily and road trip car. 160,000 miles and both Treffens last year!
